Hi Katie. Thanks for this great presentation. I am now aware that faint plays a bigger role in my life than I knew of. I am noticing that by using the melters my experience of responding vs reacting is enhanced and I am calmer in situations where before I was triggered.

Katie, Thank you so much for what you are sharing here (and elsewhere… that’s a whole other letter which is in progress). I especially appreciate hearing about and resonating with fleeing up to my head and forward into the future. Love the new welcoming move for fainting… this really gives me a sense of confidence and trust in life’s unfolding by saying a full bodied “Yes!” to whatever is before me. I’m also excited about incorporating these concepts and movements into a Playback Theater class I intend to teach soon.
I like the fact that I can use or slightly modify these moves even while sitting in my wheelchair.

In hindsight, I learned that “fleeing” can be strategically used. While talking to a male friend, I sensed that he was about to say something very intense. Rather then allow my body to get hit by the energy, I intentionally shifted my weight back on one leg and and rotated my torso out of the way. As his words came out, my body was out of the way. I allowed the energy to pass right by me, rather then take it in. Cool! It took me a day or two to understand the significance of this body movement, but now I am sold on it!

i knew i was getting stuck a lot, and had explored different paths to understanding myself, though now, with these im feeling empowered rather than telling myself Im defective.
today i have been playing with ALL the melter moves together in a kind of move-my-body dance, and just noticing which ones resonate most in the moment in terms of shifting my sense of being towards more ease and flow.
Katie, I appreciate the resources that you provide I find them useful and happily share them with friends and colleagues.

I enjoyed learning more about these fear melters. I notice fear rising this morning in a conversation mainly in the form of flee, freeze and faint. After a minute or so, fight appeared. Now, even after 12 hours have passed, I noticed that the melters opened more flow. I loved learning something new. Thanks, Katie! ~Phil

It seems my life basic response to life is FEAR! At times I marvel at the vast array of what I am afraid of! I am so grateful to be able to turn towards my body and specifically towards movement, as Katie suggests, to melt away my fear long enough to enable me to take action! I even use these movements when I am at home, If I catch myself procrastinating over a work project.
