Blue Pearl Institute Answers Top Questions
What vision do you have for your life and your coaching practice?
Although it’s hard to see inside the shell, I started as a small speck and was very annoying to those around me, evolving and growing into a whole complete sphere. At a certain point, I grew large enough to venture outside my shell and discovered a whole world outside that was different from what I imagined when I lived inside the oyster! Once outside swimming, I experienced a vast ocean filled with creativity and possibility. After overcoming my shock at the difference between what was out there and the stories I made up, I now live in curiosity every moment so that life unfolds like the waves on a shore. I see my life and others in that same way; evolving and expanding into wholeness, living life in the vast ocean of creativity and possibility.
What are the top three things you love about coaching?
Being a pearl I love shining brightly for others. I love bringing the shine out in others. I love being the mirror for clients to see their wholeness. As the statement demonstrates, it’s easy for me to see the pearl in others and hold this view. I love uncovering the grains of truth that begin as an irritation and evolve each being, much as grains of sand irritate the oyster to produce a beautiful pearl. I love embodying wholeness and reflecting that possibility to others.
Before I started coaching I …
was still emerging, a speck of sand irritating and gnawing in the inside, wanting more. Gradually, I started to grow, expanding daily into each layer of wisdom that was offered and emerged; that is how I became the pearl of wisdom I am today.
What makes you laugh?
All months with an “r” in them make me laugh. You see, those are the months one eats oysters so I am often released to the world in those months! I also laugh at the idea that we are anything less than whole.
The legacy I want to leave behind is …
that each group, each couple and each individual I touch come to know their own inherent beauty, purpose and authority. We are all pearls strung together in a worldwide string of radiant pearl wisdom.
Who are your top three people you would want to coach and why?
- Mikimoto – he is the pearl connoisseur and spent ten years making the perfect string of pearls.
- Anne Boleyn – she donned pearls for all occasions, except her beheading.
- Cleopatra – dropped a pearl in a glass of wine to win a bet with Marc Anthony.
What were the greatest benefits you received from studying at the Hendricks Institute?
I used to be stuck on the triangle. First, I was a victim trapped inside a shell. Then, my villain came alive as I irritated the oyster in my life. I tried to rescue myself, but couldn’t shift my beliefs and behavior. Finally, I discovered my essence – a beautiful iridescent complete being – and climbed out of my shell.
The movie that inspired me most was _______. Why?
a tie between The Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo. Why? The lead characters all demonstrate important coaching principles: being open to learn, living in wonder and taking action toward intentions.
Girl with a Pearl Earring
What brings you the most joy in your day to day life?
It was pretty dark in that shell at times so I experience joy living life in the light. And, I experience joy inspiring others to evolve those irritating grains of sand into pearls of truth and consciousness. I also enjoy my form and ease of movement – I can go just about anywhere. Being whole and complete, I don’t need much and can devote my energy to play, creativity and service. I can relax, observe and respond to life from curiosity and intuitive knowing.
