I have an insatiable appetite to create ways to get powerful and simple mind-body transformational tools to people. For more than a decade I have worked with men, women, adolescents, children, executives, moms at home, school teachers, people in treatment for eating disorders, family groups, and people with serious illnesses. I notice that applying a few simple tools leverages powerful transformation for a wide variety of people from different walks and stages of life. Today, I’m particularly excited about:

What vision do you have for your life and your coaching practice?

I believe our future on this planet is closely linked to our ability to connect with our essence and purpose, and co-create thriving, purposeful, sustainable relationships of equals. Through my coaching, products, and workshops, I’m passionate about introducing as many people as possible to simple, powerful body-centered ways to connect deeply to their own hearts and core values to support their transformation individually and in relationships.

What are the top three things you love about coaching?

  • That breakthrough moment when someone brings loving presence to their experience and their perception shifts from problem to possibility – their body relaxes, their eyes light up, and the core of essence and joy alive inside them shines through their physical presence. Yum!
  • Being with people as they discover how to sustain a consciousness that leads to new discoveries, creativity, and joy, simply by noticing a choice point and choosing where and how to focus their attention.
  • Drawing from a plethora of tools to meet the client where they are and support them to get where they want to be, which for me is essentially play and deeply meaningful.

Before I started coaching I …

… danced, performed, and taught dance technique and creative movement for 20 years. In 2001, I shifted my focus to body- and movement-centered transformation. Since then I’ve led Yoga classes, assisted my Yoga Teacher Rod Stryker in his ParaYoga Master Trainings, acquired various teaching certifications, taught a 200-hour Yoga teacher training program, facilitated many Nonviolent Communication trainings, and for the past three years led weekly mindfulness and expressive movement groups for people in treatment for eating disorders at McCallum Place. Building on these experiences and skills, I coach people privately and in workshop settings, which is my pure delight.

What makes you laugh?

Telling myself silly jokes makes me laugh. Playing as I move my body and dance nearly always makes me laugh. Catching myself in an old pattern, and shifting to feeling good makes me smile and laugh. Being playful with my children and loved ones makes me laugh. Physical comedy makes me laugh.

The legacy I want to leave behind is …

  • Inspiration that letting go of the past and creating anew is possible.
  • Books, videos, and products that inspire and support people with the know-how to create their transformation and expand love, creativity and play in their relationships.
  • A wake of love and joy, which is multiplied many times as more people wake up to their essence and inspire those around them to do the same.

Who are your top three people you would want to coach and why?

1. Women in their 40’s and 50’s who primarily defined themselves through others, and are now in the process of awakening and owning the joyful, creative, interdependent beings that they are.
2. People who are willing and open to discovering all that they are, and desire to have a great time learning how to be of service by authentically showing up in the world.
3. Couples who want to discover what is blooming inside them in the inner realms of being, feeling, and loving, so they can include these qualities in their relationships and align and harmonize their actions with their innate gifts and purpose.

What were the greatest benefits you received from studying at the Hendricks Institute?

Before my first Hendricks Conscious Living & Loving Essentials Seminar in 2008, I had significant training in body-centered transformation, was well-versed in transformational concepts, and yet I still felt frustrated in some relationships. From studying at the Hendricks Institute I learned simple, effective shifts in perspective which supported me to integrate and be present in my body and my mind much more reliably from moment to moment. And I continue to benefit from the evolutionary companionship, collaboration, and laughter I experience with folks in the Hendricks Institute transformational leadership community.

The movie that inspired me most was__. Why? The book?

A movie that inspired me is Enchanted April. Through choosing to take an adventure into the unknown, the women in the movie discover the love that exists inside themselves, and consequently the love they share with others blooms. This movie is magical to me.

My favorite book is A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle. I’ve read this book many times, and still remember what it was like for me to read it the very first time, entering the paradigm of love being the most powerful force in the universe. Wow!

What brings you the most joy in your day to day life?

Moving my body in playful ways that feel good is a simple pleasure which brings me joy. Opening my mind to wonder what I can discover about myself and about life is a practice that supports me to feel joy and gratitude moment to moment.

What ten things could you not do without?

1. My community of beloved friends and family.
2. My children.
3. My attitude of appreciation.
4. My car. I know that actually I could do without my car, but I want to include it because I love my car. Seriously. My silver Honda Element is the first car I’ve ever loved.
5. Fun earrings.
6. A variety of colorful clothing I can select from to match my mood.
7. My work. I love coaching and I love facilitating and supporting people to be present in their bodies. I feel happy when I am working with someone and I get to witness their delight in breathing, aligning their bodies, or mind and bodies, and discovering something new and valuable in their lives.
8. My books. I love my books of poetry, especially Hafiz and Rumi, and also Roger Housden’s books. I also love my Living Tantra manual, written by Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, and my many manuals and books from the Hendricks Institute. The Radiance Manual is my current favorite by the Hendricks’. And anything by Madeleine L’Engle; I feel I could live in her stories, and her stories definitely live in me.
