Yelena Answers Top Questions
What vision do you have for your life and your coaching practice?
My vision for my life and coaching practice is to live and serve in a state of organic bliss and full creative expression. To celebrate life and be the space where transformation occurs naturally, the space that ignites possibilities and allows people to recognize and act out of their magnificence. I invite people to unite in the light of love that we are.
What are the top three things you love about coaching?
What deeply lights me up, delights and tickles me is watching the “impossible” happen, when simple shifts in perception create magic in “real” life with ease and surprise.
I love hearing “magic stories”( the stories that clients share after they experience inner change and how the world accommodates to a new version of them and their experience of seemingly simple shift brings forth rapid changes in all areas of life) There is an example on my blog: http://loveandmagictalk.blogspot.com/2011/03/practical-love.html
I love witnessing the moment when a person meets himself, recognizes himself and starts to live himself out; the moment when his distorted view is cleared and he is able to see his real beauty.
I love presence and awakening that changes physical health, mental state, and wellbeing in a larger sense. I love when people reinvent themselves.
Before I started coaching I …
practiced Pediatrics, and later Medical Psychology for 15 years working with drug addicted kids and teenagers. This experience brought me to two life-changing realizations:
First, I saw that most issues could be resolved without medicine. That led me to retire from practicing traditional medicine.
My work as a Pediatrician allowed me to see how much of our wellbeing and the wellbeing of our children come from the ability to create safety and love in ourselves and our families.
My second realizations was how much of our well-being comes from our ability to face into what is under the symptoms, take 100% responsibility for our lives, and choose authentic actions.
I was and I am an artist (www.joyfullart.com). Art and movement therapy are essential parts of my coaching process.
What makes you laugh?
Essentially anything: My son’s and my beloved’s jokes, funny animals, friends gathering, persona play — and myself, especially if I am getting serious.
The legacy I want to leave behind is …
We are born to shine and be just who we want to be. I want for people to remember that we are all manifestations of love; and while individually, we transmit unique aspects of love, to fully know and experience ourselves we unite in love and through love.
Who are your top three people you would want to coach and why?
I am interested in coaching clients who are seeking to realize who they really are and willing to radically reinvent themselves according to what they find.
Prince William and Kate Middleton: These public figures have a great opportunity to influence masses. I think it would be fun to explore with them, and given their roles they could greatly affect many people.
Ellen DeGeneres: I see Ellen as fun and awake and having great impact. It would be a blast to coach her and I envision the possibility of helping her expand on a life work that is already doing well.
Russian President, Medvedev:. I think if President Kennedy and Kruschev could find a way to trust and collaborate with each other at that time, imagine what he and Obama could do now when the cold war is over.
What were the greatest benefits you received from studying at the Hendricks Institute?
Openness to feedback regardless of the way it is delivered
How to shift in ease and flow using simple and effective shifts moves that are always available
The power of revealing, commitment, and authentic expression
Learned to really love myself and allow ease to be a norm in my life
A fundamental understanding of what it is to take 100% responsibility for my life.
The movie that inspired me most was…
Oh, many movies … The one that came to mind just this second is “What Dreams May Come”, because it has a big idea, is so breathtaking and beautiful, so bold in its imagination. And it contains heartbreakingly effective performances by Robin Williams and Annabella Sciorra.
I like the metaphors of conscious and unconscious life portrayed through heaven and hell. The assumption is that heaven exists in a state of flux, that its inhabitants assume identities that please themselves. Heaven, in one sense, means becoming who you want to be. “Hell is for those who don’t know they’re dead.”☺
The movie shows the power of commitment (whether it is commitment to life or death). It is real, deep in its emotions, and vivid in its imagination. It brings to life the world of art therapy, which I LOVE, — — art is as effervescently important to me. Though many critics were disappointed with too much of a conventional happy ending, I am a sucker for happy endings.
The book that inspired me most was…
Jonathan Livingston Seagull was one of the first books that inspired me in 5th grade or so. I love Paolo Coehlo’s books. At the Speed of Life is one of my favorites. I am currently enjoying Kitchen Table Wisdom.
What brings you the most joy in your day to day life?
Coaching, interacting, and collaborating with people, seeing the eyes of my beloved and laughing together, connecting with my son and watching him grow; watching cats luxuriating in sunshine, flowers, plants and trees; reinventing myself with each breath, sunshine and simple things in life, appreciations and art of all kinds…
What ten things could you not do without?
Love (expanding in love and connecting through love)
Me and my wild creativity with expanding visions of limitless possibilities
Embracing people I love
My family together
Conscious friends and laughter
Fresh air and nourishing food
Soul –shaking adventures and openness to learning
What are you up to today?
Today I coach people through life’s big transitions and the times when people choose to reinvent themselves. Having reinvented myself multiple times, I easily hold space and guide my clients to do so themselves. I am combining my art and vision with coaching, creating the Heart Art Journey for individuals and couples — an opportunity for them to experience their essence and their joint power.
I enjoy my medical coaching practice, using the illness or medical condition as a gateway to explore what is really going on. It doesn’t matter how long you have been living with a particular ailment. Your willingness to change and create a higher quality of life opens up the space for magic to occur. I am continuously amazed by the body’s intelligence and ability to cure itself.
My next adventure is to coach medical executives, to bring the spirit of 100% responsibility and four pillars of integrity into the medical field.
I paint and create custom art, quilts, drapery art and murals that reflect the essence qualities of the owner.
I enjoy being together with my family, gardening and creating fresh flower arrangements, reading and playing with our cats, traveling and constantly learning.
