Creativity, Sex and Sax

I was up early this morning, doing some breathing and stretching outside. Several squirrels were chasing each other around the backyard, burning off some of that springtime energy that suffuses nature when warm weather comes. It must be fun being a sexy squirrel in spring.

We're part of that big cycle of the seasons, too, and because most of us don't chase each other madly around the backyard, we need some creative place to put that extra springtime energy. My suggestion: put it into extra creative projects. Two of my new projects this spring are writing a novel and learning to play saxophone. I had my first sax lesson yesterday, and it really gave my brain a good stretch. There's nothing like spending an hour learning to do something you've never done before. When I finished I was in an altered state of conscious, feeling exhilarated as well as a little fatigued. Whether it's sex or sax or something completely different, here's to a big upsurge of positive springtime energy in your life.
